Nagpur: The political war of words has begun after the collapse of the segment of 30 meters from the One-KM-KM-KM-Long Bridge, which is part of the Flyover Pardi project built by the Indian National Highway Authority (NHAI).
On Wednesday, the main political parties voiced concerns over the incident that demanded action against NHAI officials and contractors Gannon Dunkerley & Company Limited (GDCL) and SMS infrastructure were limited to allegations of poor work and negligence in construction.
Shiv Sena Deputy Head of Yashwant Yashwant Guddu Rahangdale, Head of the City of Nitin Tiwari, Deepak Kapse and other party activists raised slogans against the Union Minister of Highways Nitin Gadkari, BJP MLA from East Nagpur, Krishna Khopde, and contractors.
On October 8, Khopde was part of a team that examined the entire project.
MLA is all praise for NHAI.
He also walked a few km along the Kalamna Bridge, the part of the collapsed on Tuesday night.
Even though there was no reaction that came from Gadkari, said Khopade, “no doubt the incident was unfortunate.
It must have been due to negligence of contractors or officials.
But I took information from NHAI officials and gave feedback to Gadkari, followed which he committed an inquiry to do By the Delhi Nhai headquarters and experts from VNIT.
“Taking rivals, Khopade said that letting the findings of the investigation came.
“NCP-Congress and Shiv Sena, who did not pursue the Pardi Flyover project or work for city development, should not play politics on this issue,” he said.
“It is very unfortunate that the RS 650 Crore project was launched in 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi now.
Ironically, Gadkari, who made high claims about the quality of work carried out by NHAI, has fulfilled this fate in its own constituency,” said Rahangdale.
NCP Corporator Duneshwar Pete demanded Gadkari resignation.
In the Memorandum to the NHAI Regional Officer Rajeev Agrawal, he demanded a “transparent” audit of the work carried out by the contractor and the suspension of the project director.
“The contractor must be ordered.
Unless the audit is complete, the contractor may not work,” said Pete.
Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Leader Prashant Pawar and the others have a wordy duel with agrawal which was once on October 8 nicknamed GDCL as one of the best companies in bridge construction.
“However, 12 days later part of the same bridge had collapsed.
Nhai had made a bill for the job,” said Pawar.
AAM AAM AADMI Party (AAP) activists also protested at night on the site and demanded action against guilty.
“Crores of Rupee was spent on such big projects and if this was the end result, it slapped corruption.
Fainting the bridge is not natural.
Of course it is the case of goof-up by officials and contractors,” said Devendra Wankhede, organizers Vidarbha Aap .
The People’s Republican Party leader (PRP) Jaydeep Kawade accused large-scale corruption in the Flyover Pardi project.
“More than 160 people were killed in an accident because of an incomplete project.
NHAI officials promised to open three project flyovers on January 2022, but now it seems impossible.”
