College of Fisheries staff who are irked with adverse reports to the government

Mangaluru: College of Fisheries (COF) accused the Karnataka Veterinary, Fisheries Sciences University, (Kvafsu) Bidar, discrimination against universities and fisheries communities.
The COF staff wrote to the Registrar, Kvafsu, after the university quoted several shortcomings, such as human resources, infrastructure, funding and others, in their reports to the Department of Livestock and Fisheries to improve universities to universities.
“Kvafsu has treats the COF as a subordinate and inferior office and damages the fisheries sector.
This amounts to insult to the fishermen community.
Because of the indifferent attitude, this sector has not developed into its potential in the state.
This is a university obligation to consider decisions taken by Chosen Members, ” letter from the COF faculty to the Registrar said.
The COF also blamed the university because he did not follow the procedure before sending a report to the government, it became stakeholder.

Reacting to Allegations, Dr.
Narayanaswamy, VC, Kvafsu told Tii, “We only provide status reports.
If the government wants to make a University COF, we do not mind,” he claimed they only handed over facts.

College of Fisheries, Prime Minister of Fisheries Education and Research, was founded in 1969 as the first fisheries college in India.
It then made part of Karnataka Animal, University of Animal and Fisheries, Bidar.
