Chennai: A 20-year-old woman studied at Madras Christian College (MCC) sustainable education school was stabbed to death by a man outside the Tambaram train station on Thursday.
Murder has been identified as M SWhag who is pursuing a Diploma course in medical laboratory technology at the Sustainable Education MCC School.
He was killed by Ramachandran, Nagapatinam’s native.
Duo has known each other for the past two years, police said.
Ramachandran was employed in a company in Maraimalai Nagar.
Sweetha was said to have avoided the man for the past few months, according to the police.
On Thursday, Ramachandran intercepted Swadha when he returned from college to take the train.
He asked him why he avoided him and threatened to end his life.
After slitting his hand first, Ramachandran stabbed him in six places left him in a pool of blood.
Other students, who witnessed the accident, warned the police.
The pedestrian arrested him and handed it to the police.
Swetha was declared dead when the man was hospitalized.
