Mangaluru: Pompei College, in Aikala, about 30 km from the city, has said that students must come to college in the specified uniform.
It follows after the image and video of the part of the student wearing a turmeric scarf on the campus becomes a viral on Wednesday.
Purushothothama KV, Principal, said that at the coordination committee meeting on Thursday, it was decided that no headscarf (hijab) and Synfron Shawls would be permitted on the next campus.

From the BJP Mosque and Leader Committee), the old students, members of the Leadership Council, representatives from the Joint Director’s Office, Police Department and Panchayat.
The decision of the government council that was fulfilled early on that day was submitted to members.
Those who attended the meeting agreed with the College’s decision that only prescribed uniforms would be permitted.
The principal said that Muslim students have been wearing a hijab in class five years, and no one raised the problem.
However, on Tuesday around 34 students came up with a turmeric scarf wrapped in their necks, without sending a note or request to the principal or management.
“When I asked if there was a specific reason for them to come in a scarf, like if they went to Sabarimala, they said that if Muslim students came to the hijab, they would come in a safron scarf,” he said.
After this, the emergency meeting of the Leadership Council was held, and then the meeting of stakeholders.
Local organizations are reported to support students.
A Bajrang Dal leader allegedly warned college that Hindus must be allowed to wear a turmeric scarf, if Muslims are allowed to wear a headscarf.
