Kolkata: a group of doctors fan at Panja Kolkata’s Pandal on Friday to check whether the latter adheres to the Covid protocol and has covid conscious initiatives and emergency medical facilities in the venue.
Team members were very surprised to find the seventh pandal they visited this year 1 all in the same zone – ready to apply Covid control steps.
“This Puja Durga became the second since the onset of pandemic, most of the organizers seem to be aware of the Covid-19 protocol and remember it when designing their pandal.
We are satisfied with the types of steps in the pandal we visited today,” said Soumik Goswami endocrinology from NRS Medical College and Members of the Protect The Warriors (PTW) that regulate inspections.
PTW is a medical organization that works to spread consciousness on Covid.
This is the second organization that does the inspection.
Some of the pandals visited by the team on Friday included Mohamad Ali Park, Santosh Mitra Square, Chalta Bagan, Singhi Park and Maddox Square.
Some of the pointer checked by the team of doctors during their visits including if they had separate entry and out points, material awareness in Covid-19, emergency medical facilities, crowd control measures and if the Pandal was established in accordance with government guidelines.

Apart from small suggestions, we did not have many things to tell the organizers in most places,” said Nivedita Das, a public health specialist attached to the College of Medicine and Sagor Dutta Hospital.
PTW will visit more views in Kolkata on Saturday.

“We started with a pandal in the city last year and this year we have received a request from many organizers from the district to visit their pandal for suggestions and support at Covid consciousness.
This year, we expect greater legs in Panja Pandal because most are vaccinated.
Therefore, responsibility cannot be submitted to the organizer.
People visiting Pandal also need to play their role by adopting the appropriate Covid-19 behavior, “said Secretary PTW Abhik Ghosh.
