Mysuru: Mahisha Dasara, who is the celebration of Mahishasura’s realm, is celebrated by taking a procession from Buddha Vihar to Ambedkar Park in Mysuru on Tuesday.
Mahisha Dasara’s member committee member on the occasion said the government must respect the right to religious practices and allow the Mahisha celebration on the Chamundi hill.
They said they would approach the court looking for it to direct the government to organize Mahisha Dasara celebrations as the official program.
Urilinga Peddi Mutt Seer Jnanaprakash, talking on the show in Ambedkar Park in Ashokapuram, said Mahisha Dasara Celebration was irrational.
“This is based on science.
This year, the District Administration does not allow us to celebrate Mahisha Dasara.
Next year we will celebrate Ashoka Vijayadashami, Mahisha Dasara and Damma Deesksha Programs Mass together,” he said.
Seer also claims that the 2020 national education policy focuses on traditional teaching methods and aims to introduce the Gurukata Education System.
Retired Professor Mahesh Chandraguru said several groups tried to prevent the Mahisha Dasara celebration, but did not succeed.
“We celebrate Mahisha Dasara successfully,” he said.
Professor KS Bhagavan, Nanjaraja Urs PV historian, author Krishnamurthy, former Mayor of Purushotham and the others were present.
