Daltonganj: A Deputy Commander Jharkhand Jaguar who was identified as Rajesh Kumar Martyred in a meeting between JJMP security and rebel forces in Nawagarh in Learar on Tuesday.
At least one rebel is also believed to have been shot down, police said.
While the injured officer was flown to Ranchi after the incident at around 4 pm, he was declared dead when he was taken to Medica Hospital in the city.
ADG (Operation) Jharkhand Police Sanjay Anand Lathkar confirmed the meeting to Ti by telephone.

The meeting took place in the same place where about two weeks the waste police had held soccer matches for local villagers where 500 spectators gathered to watch.
