Chennai: Religious Department and State Hindu Amal (HR & CE), which recently took large pieces of the main property of encroachment, was doing steps to change this land to be a source of income and utilizing better temple funds.
The temple property with an estimated value around Rs 1,130 Crore has been reclaimed over the past few months.
Departments, according to senior officials, will spend more than Rs 200 Crore to build commercial complexes and wedding space in this restored land parcel.
Immediately, the god of the Chairman of the Srinivasa Perumal Temple at the Egmore and Ekambareswarar Temple in Kancheepuram will have a commercial complex in Chennai with their names.
An integrated commercial complex will appear on the land owned by Eggore Srinivasa Perumal Temple.
This complex will be built at the cost of Rs 50 Crore on the land of 42,000sqft adjacent to the Kilpatuk Metro station in Poonamallee High Road.
“The process of identifying architects for this project,” officially added.
Other commercial complexes will emerge at the cost of Rs 100 Crore on land owned by Temple of Kanchepuram Ekambareswararar.
Parcel land near Pachaiyappas College is estimated to be worth RS 475 Crore, the official said.
Apart from this, the department has been planning a plan to build 22 wedding spaces in the Tanah Temple throughout the state.
One of the wedding spaces will appear at the cost of Rs 5 Crore on the Tirutter neighborhood of Swami Temple.
“22 Wedding rooms will argue costs around Rs 53 Crore.
This is part of the project to create a source of permanent income generation for temples,” other officials said.
It will also take smaller commercial complex construction in the land owned by Temple Devi Karumarimanan in Thiruverkadu, Kalikambal Temple at Hosur Temple and Vedapureeswarar in Thiruvathipuram Tiruvannamalai near Chayyar.
The facility will cost Rs 2 Crore.
