Chandrapur: There is a Face-off between Congress and BJP activists in Shivneri Ground in the Tukum area in the city on Wednesday afternoon above the naming of gymnasium after Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
The gymnasium was built at the cost of RS26 Lakh through the MP Regional Development Fund approved by the former Union State Minister, Hasraj AHIR, in 2018-19.
AHIR will inaugurate the gymnasium on Wednesday.
This drama began after the Intuku Youth leader Prashant Bharti broke through with his supporters against the naming of gymnasium after Savayfar.
Bharti demanded that the gymnasium be named after Shivaji Maharaj.
Tension increased due to Congress and BJP activists in face meetings on this issue.
There are minor crowd reports among party workers.
Ahir immediately intervened and calmed the leader of the Congress.
He convinced Congress workers that even though the gymnasium was named after Savafar, the basic name would remain shivner.
Bharti then returned with the activists.
