Jaipur: Police Chief Police caused the arrest of a 50-year-old man who was caught allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in the Sirohi district in Rajasthan, police said on Monday.
Impressed by the employee’s work ethics, the Minister of Chief Justice Gehlot delivered his greetings by telephone.
Constable Labhuram monitored CCTV cameras at the Abhay command center in Sirohi a few days ago when he found a footage of a man who moved suspiciously on his motorcycle, brought the victim.
Suspecting rotten play, Labhuram checked the direct recording from a motorcycle from another camera and saw the defendant persecuting a girl in another location.
He immediately took the incident to the notice of officials at the Kotwali police station.
Within four minutes, a patrol vehicle reached the place and arrested the man when he raped the girl, Sirohi Police Inspector Dharmendra Singh said on Monday.
The defendant and the victim were taken to the local police station.
The girl’s family member was called and informed about the incident.
Kidnapping and rape under the Indian Criminal Code and the protection of children from sexual violations (Pocso) acting registered at Mahila Thana defendant was arrested, he said.
Appreciating the vigilance of Labhuram, Chairman of the Ashok Minister Gehlot said his actions would encourage other actors to exercise, he said.
Gehlot also tweeted videos from his telephone conversation with Labhuram even when he congratulated the patrol team because of his rapid action.
