Chennai: A highways department award, which was given as compensation for the acquisition of land owned by V K Sasikala on Jalan Mahabalipuram Lama (OMR), has been canceled by Madras High Court.
A total of 8,438sqft land owned by Sasikala in Paiyanur has been obtained to widen OMR.
Allowing the request transferred by Sasikala challenging orders on September 16, 2011, justice G Ilianthiraiyan gave freedom to the authorities to begin the process of running after it was in accordance with the law.
The problem is related to the process of land acquisition initiated under Tamil Nadu Highways acting to expand OMR.
Harmed, Sasikala gave a detailed objection to the land acquisition authority on January 18, 2010.
On January 22, 2010, an investigation was carried out below Section 15 (2) of the law before the Kancheepuram Regency collector.
“The applicant raises objections to the collector, so far there is no reply given to them and therefore, an invalid investigation,” Senior Advocate B Kumar, representing the applicant, said.
However, on September 15, 2011, he was told about the award and asked to bring documents relating to the land to receive compensation, he said.
Challenging awards, Sasikala transferred the current request.
Opposing it, the country stirred that the acquisition process had begun legally, and all legal procedures were followed.
Even though the process has been completed, the soil cannot be debited due to the sufferer of the current petition, the state said.
“Because the applicant did not receive a notification for an award investigation, the same thing was attached to its property by village administration officials on May 6, 2011,” said the Government Advocate.
