Pune: a police officer with Pimpri Chinchwad police headquarters and seven mercy has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of shares from Tathawade on January 14 for ransom.
Police Commissioner Pimpri Chinchwad Krishna Prakash told reporters on Tuesday, “The kidnappers have taken the victim to a hotel in Alibaug to demand Bitcoin (Cryptocurrency) and RS8 Lakh in Indian currencies, but leaving him at Wakad on January 15 after police, Dilip Tamaram Kharean of Bhosari, who planned crime, realized that the police were hot on their way.
“He said,” The police continued their investigation and arrested all eight suspects, including Kharahe, from various places, including Khar and Nalasopara in Mumbai, Kalyan in Thane, Dapodi and Bhosari in Pune and from Navi Mumbai.
” Prakash cited the investigation and said Kharahe was previously presented with Cyber Pune police and conducted several courses about cyber crime.
“It was during his term with the cyber police he learned about the victims who had Bitcoin worth RS300 Crore and plotted kidnapping in connection with his aides, hoping they would make big money from his release ransom,” he added.
“We have initiated the process of dismissing Kharahe from the Police Department in accordance with the relevant provisions in the Criminal Code,” said the police chief.
On July 3, 2019, the anti-corruption bureau had trapped Kharahe in a bribery case allegedly in Chikhali.
