Bhubaneswar: Two small children who returned from Nigeria on Thursday were tested positive for the Omicron strain from Covid-19 in Odisha, taking the second state counting, a health official said.
New patients, aged 11 and 15 years, come from Bhubaneswar, and they are undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, Director of the Institute of Life Science (ILS) Ajay Parida said.
Previously on December 21, the state had reported two cases of his first Omicron among people who returned from Nigeria and Qatar.
Patients, aged 43 and 41 years, Hail from Khurda and Jagatsinghpur Regency.
Director of Health Services, Bijay Mohapatra, said that the state government has accelerated supervision and increases drive vaccination.
Commissioner Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) S K Singh said that at least six micro detention zones have been declared in the state capital, and the celebration of Christmas and New Year will be permitted with compliance with Covid-19 guidelines.
