Mangaluru: Covid-19 Active Caseload in Dakshina Kannada District saw a surge of 63% in just two weeks.
Numbers, which are 2,010 on July 25, gradually risen to 3,294 on Saturday.
Of the 3,294 active cases, more than 70% (2,376) were reported in the last seven days.
Active Kaseload district, which is 4,334 on July 1, has decreased to 1,933 on July 14.
But after that, the case continued to surge.
While the district reported 1,740 cases in the first week of July, increased to 2,376 in the first week of August.
However, Covid fatality is less than the previous month.
While the district reported 87 deaths in the first week of July, the number was dipped in 36 in the appropriate period in August.
The district has carried out an average of 7,000 RT-PCR tests per day.

Kishore Kumar M told Stoi the district ready to face the possible third wave.
“We are not in a position to analyze what is wrong and how the first two waves crash into the district.
We also cannot predict how and when the third will attack.
So we need to be prepared and do everything possible to prevent viruses to spread,” he added.
This district has stopped the bus service between countries and strengthens border supervision to prevent the spread of the virus from Kerala, where the Covid surge continues.
