Gurugram: Faridabad on Monday reported 110 new Covid-19 cases, the largest one-day calculation in the past seven months.
The last time the city has recorded more cases on May 30, 2021 when 114 people were tested positively.
Counts now increase to 1,00,496, with 435 of them active.
The city also recorded two new cases Omicron on Monday – a six-year-old girl whose mother had traveled to France and was tested positive for the variant and a student with the history of US journey.
The two patients were in house isolation, according to Dr.
Vinay Gupta, Faridabad’s medical head.
With this, the calculation of omicron cases in the city has increased to eight, where two are active cases.
Dr.
Gupta said testing had increased and special camps were held in places where the cases were reported.
“While the main contact in these cases is being tested, special camps will ensure that secondary contact samples are also taken,” added Dr.
Gupta.
On Monday, seven people were received at a dedicated Covid hospital while 428 the remaining patients were in house isolation.
Eight people also recovered, carrying the total recovery to 99,344.
In the last 24 hours, 3,404 Covid tests were carried out.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Faridabad Jitender Yadav said 4,000 children in the age group 15-18 were vaccinated on Monday.
Overall, 27,946 people got shots at 72 session sites.
