Mangaluru: The doctor’s team at the Wenlock District Hospital in Mangaluru claimed to have managed to care for a 16-year-old girl, who had been positively tested for Covid-19 under C category and was diagnosed with multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children (mis-c) , The girl, the first treated for Mis-C at Wenlock Hospital, was fully healed and sent back on Tuesday after 24-day treatment, Dr.
Sharah Babu, Pulmonologist at Hospital Wenlock told Tii.
“The critical care team at the hospital treats the girl in the ICU for 13 days, where it is in the support of the ventilator for eight days.
He was diagnosed under Covid-19 category.
Only complications in category C are pneumonia and respiratory failure.
However , this girl has several complications with the involvement of many organs.
He has pneumonia and other system inflammation as well.
Therefore, we treat it as a case of MIS-C, “said Dr.
Sharaath Babu.
“Usually, when children are tested positive for Covid-19, they show symptoms of mis-c as well as four weeks.
Therefore, we treat it to the Mis-C line too, even though he has other complications with shock., Thrombocytopenia, anemia , hypoxic seizures and are expected after eight days of mechanical ventilation, “he added.
