Pune: The number of people who tested the positive Covid-19 jumped to 1,658 in the Pune Metropolitan area on Tuesday, tally one highest day since June 3 last year when 1,864 cases were recorded.
Apart from the leap in the case, hospital admissions remain constant, indicating that most cases are mild or asymptomatic.
On Monday, 678 patients were in hospital care and this number increased to 697 on Tuesday.
Among new cases, the PMC area added 1,104, followed by the PCMC (350) area and rural areas and Canton (204).
A total of 217 people recovered from Covid-19 in PMR on Tuesday, including 151 from PMC limits, 37 from rural areas and 29 in the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
In addition, 15,407 tests were carried out at PMR on Tuesday.
The day’s front level reached 10.76% for PMT.
A total of 6,819 samples were checked within the PMC limit, 4,876 in the Pimpri Chinchwad area and 3,712 at the rustic and canton boundaries.
The calculation of active Covid cases in this region increased to 5,617 on Tuesday night, including 4,920 patients in house isolation.
A report by Health Officer Bhagwan Pawar stated that one patient gave up on the infection in the region on Tuesday.
No Covid death recorded on the Chinchwad Pimpri and the rural part.
Progressive count from positive cases increased to 11.68 lakh in the region on Tuesday, while the release reached 11.43 lakh.
