Chennai: Active Covid-19 infection in Tamil Nadu fell below 15,000 on Sunday when Tamil Nadu recorded 1,218 new cases, pushing the overall Kaseload to 26,87,092.
A total of 15 people gave up on the deadly virus, took the victim to 35,899, said a medical bulletin.
Recovery exceeded new infections with 1,411 people out in the last 24 hours, aggregate up to 26.36,379 leaving 14,814 active infections, he said.
Tamil Nadu has witnessed a decline in everyday case and on August 20, an active infection fell below 20,000.
As many as 1,28,313 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative number of specimens checked up to 4.94 crores to date.
Chennai and Coimbatore recorded new cases with state capital add 156, coimbatore 132 while the rest spread in other districts.
Seven districts reported less than 10 new cases, while there were no new deaths in 30 districts.
Tenaskasi enrolled the number of infections at least two.
All the deceased does not have existing comorbidity or diseases, added the bulletin.
