Mumbai: The country continues to report a drop in the case of Covid-19 on Tuesday, although the fatality reports a leap more than double the day before.
The country reported 6,107 new cases, the lowest in 40 days since December 30 (5,368).
The death count rose to 57 of 24 on Monday.
With this, the total case in the country touched 78.16 lakh and toll reached 1,43,155.
The city reported a single death Covid-19, a senior citizen with co-morbdities.
It was the first death since January 2, when zero death was reported.
Daily Covid Tata in Mumbai rose slightly on Tuesday (447) compared to the previous day (356), mainly due to a slight increase in the number of daily tests carried out.
The daily testing level remains stable around 1.3% on both days.
“Inpatient, including the ICU, has dropped dramatically,” said Kokilaben Ambani Coo Coo Dr.
Santosh Shetty.
For the second day in a row, the number of inpatients in the city was due to Covid below 100 compared to four times three weeks ago.
BMC Executive Health Officer Dr.
Mangala Gomare said the third wave had declined.
“Only the tail is seen at this time,” he said.
State officials said the government was looking at more restrictions in districts where the cases were low and also a high level of vaccination.
Active cases in the state down to 1 lakh and under 5,000 in the city.
The state has 96,000 patients Covid-19 who are being treated, where 4783 is in Mumbai.
