Covid Curve continues to flatten in Dakshina Kannada; Active case at 14 months low

Mangaluru: Active Kaseload Covid-19 in the District of Dakshina Kannada has dropped to less than 100, the lowest since June 2020.
While the district has an average of 12 new cases per day for the previous three weeks in November, active derivatives dropped to 96 on Sundays .
Even so, the Ministry of Health continues to carry out more than 4,000 RT-PCR tests per day.
According to the Department of Health official, the district will continue to monitor the situation by focusing on prevention of viruses.
“At present, the district only has 30 covid patients who received care in various hospitals.
Meanwhile, 66 patients were treated at home separately,” Dr.
Ashok H, the Nodal Officer district for Covid-19, told TII.
With 1,692 deaths in two waves of pandemic, this district has a recovery rate of 98.4% and a case mortality rate (CFR) of 1.4%.
Of the 1,692 deaths recorded in two waves of pandemic, 952 were recorded in the second wave starting March 1 this year, with CFR 1.1%.
In the second wave, 418 deaths were reported at Mangaluru Taluk, 138 on Bantwal, 101 in Belthangady, 88 in Putture, and 46 in Sultia.
Meanwhile, patients from other districts contributed 17% of the deaths in the second wave.
Of the 2,545 covid patients from other districts admitted to Dakshina Kannada Hospital, 161 died.
