New Delhi: Delhi on Friday recorded 17,335 fresh covid cases, the highest single-day increase since May 8, and nine deaths, while the level of participants increased to 17.73%, according to data distributed by the State Health Department.
This is a significant increase from Thursday when the city recorded 15,097 new cases at a 15.34% participant level.
On Wednesday and Tuesday, 10,665 and 5,482ku were recorded with the level of participation of 11.88% and 8.37%, according to official figures.
A large surge in new cases over the past few days was recorded in the midst of a significant leap in the case of the new Covid Omicron variant.
Initially, it was estimated that the new variant mostly caused mild symptoms.
But the latest data shows an increase in death and a significant increase in the number of Covid-19 patients who need hospitalization and oxygen / ventilator support.
According to the Health Bulletin distributed by the Delhi Government, there were 39,873 Covid-19 active cases in the city currently 20,695 were in house isolation and 1,390 people were hospitalized.
Only a few others are isolated or treated at the Covid Care Center and Covid Health Center.
Among those who were hospitalized, 286 who needed oxygen support and 31 were on ventilator support.
The death toll because Koronavirus infection in Delhi has now increased to 25,136.
Of this number, 29 deaths have been recorded in the last six days.
Nine Covid-19 deaths were reported here in December last year, and seven in November, according to official data.
