Noida: The number of Covid cases reported in December rose to 43 as eight more patients, including the population of Bulandshahr who underwent treatment at a private hospital in the city, was tested positive for infections in the district on Wednesday.
A security guard posted at Noida Covid Hospital in Sector 39, a health care worker who was a contact of a Covid patient, and two patients who visited the recent hospital hospitalization department were also among the positive people, Officials said.
During the state-level meeting on Wednesday, GB Nagar officials were told to increase testing.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad also directed the Ministry of Health officials to make a comprehensive testing effort at the larger Noida School after three students, all neighboring Ghaziabad, was found positively recently.
Officials are also asked to increase testing.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health, this district conducts around 2,000-2,100 tests every day on average in December, which is around 25% of the daily target of 7,900, including 4,400 through a fast antigen kit and 3,500 RT-PCR tests.
The number of tests in the past six months also showed a downward trend.
Official data shows that more than 1.32 Lakh tests were carried out in June, which fell to 1.21 lakh in July.
In August, only 79,036 tests were carried out, while in September the image reached 72,120.
In October, 65,572 tests were carried out, which further fell to 49,643 in November.
At present, there are 24 active cases in this district, where 15 patients are in house isolation and nine in hospitals.
