Death is largely in vulnerable populations such as the elderly and those who have comorbidities, such as in the previous waves.
The country has reported an average of 70 deaths during the past week.
A health official said the number tended to remain in the range for one or two weeks since 4,727 people are currently serious.
From them, 2,193 patients in an icus, including 705 on ventilators and 1,388 on oxygen support.
2,500 more patients on oxygen outside the ICU.
Death is reported from all parts of the state, Wable said.
The data showed the Mumbai Metropolitan region recorded the highest 494 death, followed by a pune circle that saw 279 deaths and nashic circles with 116 deaths.
While Kolhapur and the latch circle reported 89 and 48 deaths, Akola and Nagpur circles have seen less than 30 deaths.
Aurangabad Circle has seen the lowest fatality in 10 deaths.
An district health official said there was no doubt the third wave was less severe and many people were not tested.
“The possibility of death may have been disadvantaged to a certain extent because of low testing,” he said.
