Udupi: Following a mass violation of the Covid-19 protocol in Sri Krishna Mutt in Udupi, the district government has directed Tahsildar to hold a meeting with the Temple Authority.
Deputy Commissioner M Kate Rao told Tii that he had directed Udupi Tahsildar to hold a meeting with the Temple Authority and submit a report.
“I have directed Tahsildar to meet the Festival Committee at the Temple.
I also asked him to verify and collect the details of the festival held on Friday,” DC said.

“Seer has sent a message to people, that the Paryaya Festival will be held in accordance with religious traditions, and without splendor.
The temple authorities also realized the restrictions of Covid-19,” he said, adding that district administration would see this problem.
Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat, who is also the honor of Paryaya Samiti, has told the recent media, that the government protocol will be strictly followed during the Farmaya Festival, and only a few public functions will be symbolically held.
Sri Vidyasagara Thirtha has also urged worshipers to work together, because Mutt has decided to celebrate Paryaya in a simple way, by focusing more on religious rituals.
