Gandhinagar / Ahmedabad: Increase in concern in the Covid-19 case in this country lead the Gujarat government on Thursday to postpone a large ticket Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2022 scheduled to be held from January 10 to 12 in Gandhinagar.
“In a greater public interest and maintain the welfare of all citizens in the mind, the 10th Gujarat Global Summit to be held from 10 to 12 January 2022 has been postponed for now,” said CM Bhupendra Patel.
The announcement caused many other events to be delayed or canceled.
All pre-vgg events are health summit and innovation summit and VGGS trade shows are postponed; Flower performances in Ahmedabad and the kites that will be held by the front state of Uttarayan on January 14 are called.
The fresh wave of Covid-19 saw the country that recorded 4,213 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, the highest in the last 230 days or 7.5 months.
The number of active cases also experienced up to 14,346, the highest since June 8 according to the Department of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW), Gujarat on Wednesday added 28% of the active case – the number was higher than Tamil.
Nadu (25%), Maharashtra (23%), West Bengal (23%), Karnataka (22%) and Kerala (11%).
In comparison, Bihar has added 40% of active cases a day, followed by 38% in Uttar Pradesh and 36% in Delhi.
In the past few days, more than half a dozen top bureaucrats and political leaders, including a minister, has been tested positive for Covid-19.
