Kolkata: Even when some businesses find it difficult to operate during pandemic and battle uncertainty caused by restrictions every few months when cases soar, some new singing bars have been opened in the Chandni-Esplanade area and many have developed.
The Chandni-Esplanade area in the central business area has the highest number of bars in the city that changes the area with a night approach.
Bouncers took a position outside the gate and the singer began to arrive at a batch.
The owner has decorated the façade with bright lights to attract guests who lend the places of carnavalesque feelings.
According to the owners of several singing bars, the area provides certain advantages compared to other places such as better connectivity, the existing market due to iconic restaurants and bars and thin housing populations.
Now the newer outlet has been opened to cash in footsteps, this area is interesting because the bar sings and non-singing.
Kick, beside Chung Wah which is iconic close to the Chandni Metro station, is the latest to open in the area.
The existing liquor store has made a way for the bar.
“We have opened a place a few weeks ago and the response is good until the third wave struck.
Good business until Christmas weekends,” said one of the owners.
The famous Sagar restaurant and bar recently changed hands and new owners had renovated the place and changed one floor to singing bars.
“Ground floor for families who can enjoy their food and drinks.
The first floor has been converted into a bar singing with live music,” said one new owner of the place.
Rhythms at Waterloo Street has added another floor to the top floor.
“This place has a comfortable seating and also helps in social distance at the time of a pandemic,” said a manager.
Opening of other singing bars at Ganesh Chandra Avenue was postponed after a surge in the case last year.
