Nagpur: In the great assistance for the Ministry of Forestry and the population of the city, the expert team of four members from Sangli described the long-legged crocodile from Nullah near the Maharajbagh Zoo, early Sunday morning.
It was released in the original habitat at the Totladoh reservoir in Pengh Tiger Reserve (PTR) on the same day.
Crocodiles have been seen and died for almost two months, first in the Nullah behind the Patrakar colony near the bole seed pump on November 8.
Then, the crocodile was also seen near Mokhshadham.
The Nagpur Forest Division team traces crocodiles to try and arrest him for the last 15 days in Nullah near the zoo, Patrakar Colony, and near Mokshadham.
They are still not sure whether there are more crocodiles, or those caught are the same.
Bharat Singh Hada, Deputy Forest Conservator (DYCF), Nagpur, said, “We are not sure whether the crocodile caught moves spots due to interference.
We are alert and will launch a similar rescue operation if we find more crocodiles.
This is a freshwater reptile And so we sent it to PENH.
“The team of four members from Kolhapur has reached the city on January 1, and examining the crocodile’s place hiding.
“We formed a team together and two cages with pieces of chicken placed to lure reptiles, in such a way that there was no runaway route for the animal.
Predator was locked up in wee time and immediately shifted to the transit treatment center (TTC) in Seminary Hills,” said Assistant Conservator Forest (ACF) Surendra Kale.
