New Delhi: Union Cabinet on Thursday approved a 3 percent increase in DEVERNESS Allowance (DA) and equessness relief (DR) given to employees and retired central government.
With this DA for the employee now stands at 31 percent from 28 percent before.
The increase will take effect from July 1, 2021.
It will directly benefit 47.14 lakh employees of the central government and 68.62 lakh retirees, the Minister of Unity Thakur said while giving media direction.
Increasing DA and DR will impose an additional annual burden of Rs 9,488.7 Crore in FCEQUER, the Minister said.
In July, the center has increased DA from 17 percent to 28 percent after a distance that is almost throughout the year.
Given the Covid-19 pandemic, the center has freezed three additional installments of DA and Dr.
due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.
Thakur also congratulated the citizens to cross the vaccination dose of 100 crore-marks.
“All citizens, especially those who work at the forefront, are worried about Covid’s soldiers have a big contribution to make.
I congratulate all this,” he said.
