Prague: Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and his government has resigned in the formal steps needed by the Constitution after last month’s parliamentary election.
Babis said Thursday she sent a letter of resignation to President Milos Zeman.
The head of state is expected to ask Babis to live in the office until the new government is appointed.
The Babis Government must resign after the first session of the house under the new parliament is complete, which occurred on Wednesday.
The three-party coalition, liberal-conservative known together won the October 8-9 election with 27.8% of the vote.
Together in collaboration with the Central Left Liberal Coalition consisting of a pirate party and a group of mayors and independent candidates, who came in third place with 15.6% of the vote.
