Mumbai: With a stable decline in Covid cases in the state, daily deaths dropped to eight-month low on day 21 on Wednesday.
There were 18 deaths on February 22.
The state recorded 1,825 cases on Wednesday, below 2,000 for the sixth day in a row.
Continuing the bump trend Wednesday looks for the past month, the everyday case in Mumbai jumped to 462 after staying under 400 for two days.
The BMC dash said the weekly growth rate of infection dropped decimals to 0.05% after a month and the doubling rate had increased to 1,324 days.
The number of closed buildings fell further to 41 of 46 on Tuesday.
It was 50-plus last week.
The daily city toll city, which drops to zero on Sunday, has been stable in four since then.
A senior BMC official said Wards H West (Bandra), D (Malabar Hill) and E (Byculla) were among the seventh that saw the highest number of cases during the past week.
“However, this is a case spread,” the official added.
The active case in the state fell to 25,728, where 5,525 was a city.
Officials say all sectors have been opened and the review of the increase in the case will be carried out after Diwali before assessing further normalization.
