Aurangabad: Two dalit men were accused of being attacked and forced to lick saliva because they did not vote for the sake of Mukhiya candidate, who lost in the election of Panchayat held on December 8.
The results were stated on December 10, the police arrested Mukhiya candidate, Balwant Singh, from Dumri Village under the Amba Police Station area in the Aurangabad district after the incident video became a viral on social media on Sunday.
The Amba police station responsible for Narendra Kumar said Singh was arrested on the basis of the video of the virus found by the police.
“In the video, Singh Balwant, which was contested for the position of Mukhiya from Dumri Panchayat, was seen beating several people and forced them to lick spit.
The police verified the video and found the incident right,” said Narendra.
According to the police, Balwant has harassed the voters Kharanti Tolla Bhuyan Bigha because they did not vote for their favor.
Public Relations Officers Aurangabad Krishna Kumar said the Social Welfare Department had provided compensation for RS2 Lakh and partly paid RS50,000 to one of the victims, Anil Bhuiya, under the SC / SC Law (Prevention of Atrocry).
The remaining number will be paid after FIR is submitted, he said.
The allegations against the second victim were being verified.
