Vadodara / Anand: For all the benefits, this brave robbery is of course tiring, if it is not filled with high tension! Four workers do amazing heavy duty robbery attacking two security guards, installing three heavy conductor drums with a weight of 15 tons of high voltage electrical cables using a crane on the truck and then selling heavy aluminum cables along the road in Kolkata! And local crime branches (LCB) in Anand got a severe shock when robbery was revealed on December 16.
The investigation in the robbery reported from the outskirts of Palara Village in Taluka Petlad of Anand District has revealed that all workers’ allegations work on a site where Unitech Power Transmission Limited (UPTL), the leading engineering contractor and turnkey company, is putting a high tension line.
The defendant worked for contractual work putting a high tension transmission line, police said.
“After tied the security guard on the site, the defendant had employed a crane who claimed that they had to shift the heavy conductor drum to another location,” said Police Inspector LCB K Chaudhary.
The conductor drum is appreciated by Rs 24 Lakh.
Each conductor drum weighs 5 tons.
“Using a crane, the conductor drum is lifted and installed on the Eicher truck,” he said, adding that CCTV footage had revealed how the defendant escaped with a conductor drum from the site.
The police have arrested Sadiqali Muslim, a 27-year-old worker, who lives in a tobacco plant, located right behind the factory’s premise.
Three other accused of escape has been identified as Muslim Naserali Sabedali, Barkatali Muslim and ATAbur Alamali Muslim, Original Rampur Village in Purnia.
