Hyderabad: World Health Organization (WHO) will make a decision about the Emergency List of Use (EUL) from the first Covid-19 covid-19 covaxin vaccine developed in October.
Global Health Body updated the date of decision making for Covaxin Bharat Biotech until the end of October 2021 on Wednesday night, according to the latest EUL guide document for the Covid-19 vaccine on September 29, from the previous “it has not been confirmed”.
WHO confirmation about the decision timeline appears even because there has been an intense speculation about the status of the EUL Covaxin application and when it will be taken for approval.
While the WHO website shows the status of Covaxin’s assessment as “sustainable”, who is a strategic group of experts on immunization (Sage) will meet on October 5 to discuss and consider eul’s recommendations for Covaxin.
According to the design of the sage meeting agenda uploaded on the WHO website, Sage will discuss Covaxin Phase 1, 2, 3 clinical test data and post-marketing studies on safety, immunogenicity, efficacy and effectiveness and outlines of sustainable and planned research on their shared safety and effectiveness With renewal of the global, regional and state level plans for vaccine safety monitoring.
“Based on the evidence presented, the expert panel will present a recommendation draft on the use of Bharat Biotech vaccine in the priority population,” said the Sage Agenda.
Sage is the main advisory group to whom for vaccines and immunization.
Eul Covaxin has been under the review since July 6 when sending rolling data starts.
Many of those who have taken the non-active virus vaccine two doses have been awaiting the approval of who will make international trips smoother.
