New Delhi: The capital on Monday adds 63 new cases Omicron to Tally Covid on Monday, taking the total number of infections associated with the new variant of SARS-COV-2 to 142.
Until Sunday, the city has recorded 79 cases of omicron.
So far, 671 omicron cases have been reported in this country.
Delhi was behind only Maharashtra, who reported 167 cases like that so far.
While every fifth case is reported from the national capital, health experts say that patients in Delhi show mild or no symptoms at all.
At the same time, they emphasized the need for vaccination and followed the Covid norm.
Dr.
Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of the LNJP Hospital, which is the largest facility in the city for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, said most of them treated in hospitals have very mild and repatriated symptoms without requiring steroids or oxygen therapy.
“No need to panic about this.
Until now, 85-90% of patients do not have symptoms and others have very mild symptoms,” he said, adding that from a total of 51 cases of omicrons treated at the hospital to date, 40 have been run out of very healthy conditions.
.
Most patients recover without oxygen support, remdesivir or need to be treated in the ICU, Dr.
Kumar said.
“However, I will urge people to be fully vaccinated because those inoculated are very light or there are no symptoms at all.
Only those who are not vaccinated face more problems,” he added.
Delhi reported the first case of the Omicron variant three weeks ago, on December 6, when a 33-year-old man recently returned from Tanzania was tested positively.
Patients were treated at LNJP, which were for the treatment of these cases on November 30 and set the isolation unit.
To increase the capacity of institutional insulation facilities in the private sector for Positive Covid international passengers who have traveled from or stated through ‘risky countries’, the Delhi government then gives instructions to build a similar insulation unit on the Batra Hospital and Research of the Tuxlakabad institutional center , Special Hospital Fortis Super, Vasant Kunj, and Sir Ganga Ram City Hospital.
“The cases we see in Delhi most have mild or no symptoms at all.
However, it is still earlier to conclude if there are cases with symptoms too.
That is why people must strictly follow Covid’s safety norms at any time and Fully vaccinated as soon as possible because of their second dose, “said a health official.
