New Delhi: The day after the shootout in the Rohini District Court complex, the question was being brought up and the meeting was being held on security deviations in all six other district courts in Delhi.
Attorney is also abstained from work in all district courts on Saturday to encourage the revision of security settings.
Advocate Rakesh Sherawat, Chair of the Bar Council Bar Delhi, said that a meeting was held with police commissioner Delhi Rakesh Asthana, where bar members showed security deviations.
“We have shown deviations about CCTV cameras that are not in working conditions, metal detectors do not function properly and police personnel are not diligent in doing their duties.
We want to improve the accountability of this officer,” said Sherawat to Ti.
“The police commissioner was both worried and he admitted that there was a mistake.
He promised us that he would improve it and return with a very easy security plan for all district courts,” he said.
Rakesh Wadhwa, New Delhi Bar Association President, said there were deviations in security in all district courts.
“In the court of Patiala’s house, we have as many as 12-13 gates.
It is very difficult to have a comprehensive security setting,” he said.
Wadhwa further said, in a meeting held with district judges, it was proposed to only have three gates to enter and exit litigants and lawyers.
“We appeal to lawyers also that they should not hesitate to get themselves and if someone wants to examine it, they must volunteer on their thorough examination.
We are looking for settings for limited entries here.” YP Singh, President of the Dwarka Bar Association, said lawyers fully worked together in their security check and claimed it was a hose on the police Delhi.
“There is no problem about the driver’s driver.
Personnel who are married here are those who do not do their duties properly.
If the lawyer refuses, it will be reported to the Bar Association.
We have no complaints like that,” said Singh.
He further said that the police intelligence unit failed and they should take all precautions while producing a famous gangster before the court.
“Every court entry has a metal detector to check the bag.
It’s just a case where the error has been included in a lawyer.
The Delhi High Court security model must be followed in the District Court too,” he told Toi.
