With the capital recorded many extreme weathers one day in the last year and a half in some parts of Delhi, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is developing an urban meteorological service for Delhi-NCR to estimate the impact of the weather in certain places in places.

RK Jenamani, senior scientist at IMD, told TOI, “We are drawing exposure data of high resolution from the various agencies.
We collect data from the Traffic Department in the areas which witnessed Snarl Traffic Large and from other institutions in low-lying areas.
We also collect housing data given the socio-economic conditions of society.
