New Delhi: The Delhi Excise Ministry of Excise has relaxed the norms to apply for a P10 license to buy Indian and foreign liquor for parties and functions.
This step will make events like it easier in the city.
People can now file a seven day license before, which will give them more space for planning.
Previously, only two days were given to people to file a license.
The P10 license is needed to serve liquor on each party, function, marriage, and similar events in certain places, including agricultural houses, banquet rooms and other places in the capital.
In a round issued earlier this week, the Excise Ministry announced that the people concerned can apply for P10 permits seven days before the function or party and the applicant can buy liquor from six stores.
An official said that before, anyone who wanted to register the P10 license should only apply two days before the event and could buy liquor from only three liquor stores.
This relaxation aims to make it comfortable for people to organize parties and relaxation can help many people because they have come at the peak of the celebration season.
The application for administration of the P-10 license can be done online or through the Excise Ministry.
Relaxation has been provided until November 30.
An individual who wants to serve liquor to his guest at his residence does not need a license provided by liquor which is served within the nine-liter ownership limit, said an excise official.
Meanwhile, the Excise Ministry also invited applications for various categories of licenses for consumption of liquor ‘in place’ in hotels, clubs, motels and restaurants in Delhi.
Under new excise, the government has licensed for 850 rare sales of retail liquor in 32 zones throughout the capital.
Under the same policy, the existing license for consumption of liquor ‘in place’ will be updated after the application is created.
The 260 private liquor stores have been closed in the city starting on October 1 and so on with new policies and government liquor stores will be closed from November 17 and so on.
