New Delhi: National capital is likely to witness around 14,000 fresh Covid-19 cases on Thursday, Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
However, he ruled out the possibility of locking in the city.
Speaking at a press conference, Satyendar Jain said, “Delhi is likely to witness 14,000 cases of fresh Covid today and the daily level of progress may rise to around 14 percent.
No confirmed death has been reported because of the ‘omicron’ variant of Covid-19 in Delhi.
The Delhi government is doing more than 90,000 tests every day.
“Meanwhile, the quarantine period for house isolation patients in the national capital, which has been tested positive for Covid-19, has been reduced to 7 days from 14 days.
The Minister of Health added that the Delhi government has increased the number of oxygen beds and ventilator beds in private and government hospitals.
In the restrictions of Covid-19, he said, “Delhi became the capital of the country was the first to impose maximum restrictions, it didn’t seem to be needed at this time.” Meanwhile, India reported 90,928 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health and family welfare on Thursday.
The daily lift level is at 6.43 percent while the weekly peposititivity reaches 3.47 percent.
India has reported 2,630 cases of omicron variants from Covid-19 so far, according to the Ministry of Health and family welfare.
According to the ministry, Maharashtra has reported the maximum number of Omicron cases (797) followed by Delhi (465).
