Delhi shivered, demand for high power

New Delhi: Dip in temperature has caused power demand in the city soaring.
The temperature dropped on Friday raised Delhi’s peak demand, which crossed 5,000 MW for the first time this winter.
Officials said that by dropping 5,104 MW on January 14, the season had penetrated the demand for peak winter strength in 2021, when 5,021 MW was the highest demand.

This month has seen higher peak power requests at 40% or six matches compared to January 2021.
In December 2021, demand for peak power was higher at 58% or 18 matches, compared to December 2020 and in November seeing request higher than 50% or 15 days appropriate compared to November 2020.
The highest peak power request recorded last month was 4,685 MW, recorded on December 31, 2021.
At 4,685 MW, Delhi’s peak demand not only recorded the highest in December 2021 , This also surpassed that December 2020 – 4,671 MW on December 30 that year.
On December 16, 2021, Delhi’s peak demand across 4,000 MW for the first time in the winter today and has since crossed 4,000 MW on 16 occasions during the month, the official official said.
During 2021, Delhi’s peak demand was higher in 227 from the days according to 2020, which meant Delhi’s peak demand last year was higher at 61% of the same days in 2020, officials said.
“Ensuring a reliable supply in the season whatever is the right power setting function as well as an accurate estimated request and a strong distribution network,” BS spokesman said, added that BBS discounts were fully directed to ensure adequate power availability during the winter.

A spokesman for the Distribution of Tata Power Delhi said he managed to fulfill the demand for a record of 1,606 MW record in his area without network constraints and power outages thanks to surplus settings.
“The company expects peak requests to touch this 1,700 MW winter.
Power-DDL Tata is prepared with its action plan to provide assistance, convince 24×7 power supply for all important services and consumers,” said the spokesman.
