Gurgaon: A sub-inspector’s assistant (ASI) posted with special cell Delhi police have been arrested in connection with the theft of 50-lakh rs in the 84 sector, Gurgaon police said on Saturday.
ASI Vikash Gulia, the police said, is a “childhood friend” Gangster Vikas Langharpuria, mastermind in this case, and offered around Rs 10 lakh from booty.
Anand Yadav Inspector, who was responsible for the Gurgaon Police Crime Unit, told Ti that Gulia was under the scanner after several criminals, was arrested in a robbery case, allegedly named the police during the interrogation.
On Friday, breast milk was undergoing a course at the police training center when he was picked up by the Gurgaon Police Crime Unit.
“The defendant was produced in front of the local court on Saturday that sent him to the police detention two days,” said Yadav.
According to the police, around RS 50 Lakh was robbed on August 4 from the 82 sector maintenance office of the Gurgaon One housing project.
On August 20, when a maintenance company employee went to deposit cash in a bank, he found Rs 50 Lakh lost.
After scanning CCTV cameras, they found that the money was stolen.
Furthermore, a complaint was delivered at Khedki Daula Police Station on August 21 by Alpha Corp Management Service Private Limited, a company that manages a housing project in Sector 84.
Based on complaints, a registered case under the IPC part 380 (theft), the police said, added that Branch of Gurgaon Police Crime, who was investigating this case, found seven people, all related to Gangster Vikash Langharpuria, involved in theft.
The police initially arrested three people, identified as Dhare, Amit alias Mitouts, both from Najafgarh in New Delhi, and Abhinav from above.
About 30 cases were registered against Dhare, 10 cases opposed Amit and at least two against Abhinaav, added the police.
During the interrogation, the defendant was reported to notify the police that Gangster Vikash was Mastermind and had given them all information about location and money.
In the disclosure statement, the defendant claimed Gulia’s milk has received Rs 10 Lakh from booty, while gangsters took around Rs 15 Lakh and the remaining Rs 25 Lakh distributed among criminals who carried out crimes, said the inspector of Yadav.
According to police, Gulia and Gangsters belonged to the same village in the Badli Haryana area and “childhood friend”.
“He (ASI) comes constantly with gangsters,” said an investigation officer, added that Gulia had joined the Delhi police as a police officer in 2010 and he got two of the promotional turns and recently became breastfeeding.
On Friday, Delhi police reportedly initiated the disciplinary process of breast milk.
