New Delhi: With a driving skills test was suspended since the beginning of this month due to a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi government on Friday expanded the validity of all student licenses until March 31.
From January 6, driving skills tests are still suspended by the Department of Transportation, while the ‘facial service’ online continues to function.
Promise for SIM, both existing and new ones, in all RTOS suspended considering the increasing number of cases and Covid-19 guidelines issued by Delhi disaster management authorities.
In an order released on Friday, the department said that during a driving skills test and a new promise for the test being suspended, the validity of the student license was extended until January 31.
The validity of student licenses is six months, after the license holder must appear for driving skill tests to get a permanent SIM.
“It has come to pay attention to the license holder of several students cannot obtain an online appointment slot for their driving skills test and there are more applicants than available driving test slots,” order status.
According to the order, the validity of the student license issued by the Department of Transportation, whose validity has ended between February 2, 2020 and January 31, 2022, is being extended for two months, which is until March 31, 2022.
“Given the interest of the general public Delhi, the Department of Transportation has decided to expand Validity of all learning licenses and heavy drive licenses for the next three months are up to 31.03.2022 .
The validity of the license driving a heavy commercial vehicle (transportation) has also been extended until March 31 in a separate order issued on Friday.
The order further states that practical training and class driver training has been suspended in two separate centers in Loni Road and Burari.
Some training courses have been stopped at this time.
“As a result, a number of commercial vehicle drivers cannot get their updated driving license,” he added.
