Delhi Temple volunteers are ordered to stalk girls

New Delhi: A volunteer (sewadar) in a temple in Southeast Delhi has been ordered for allegedly harassing and stalking a girl and sending obscene messages.
Some teams have been formed to arrest suspects, said senior officers.
The complainant, a 15-year-old girl, alleged that she, with her father, used to visit the temple in the Kalkaji every day where the defendant, around 40 years old, was used to meet them.
The defendant has been identified as Amit who has tried to be friends with girls for some time, police said.
“The complainant said the man used to look at him with sexual intentions and made him uncomfortable.
He said he initially ignored his intention, but he continued to try to be friends with him,” the officer said.
“He said the man even sent his message on WhatsApp after he told his parents about it.
About one and a half years ago, when the survivors took the problem to notice his parents, he even apologized, promised not to repeat that action, “The officer said.
However, the girl said, the man began to send him an SMS after a few days.
“He alleged that he had even changed his picture and used it on the messaging application.
After this, his parents reported this problem to the police,” the officer added.
Based on his complaint, a case has been registered at the Amar Colony police station under the IPC 509 (intends to insult the politeness of a woman), 354D (stalk) and under the Pocso Law.
The initial probe has revealed that the suspect was a resident of Sarai Julena in Delhi.
“CCTV camera footage is being checked to track it.
Some raids are done and he runs away.
We have the advantage and he will soon be arrested,” police said.
