Delta expands the life of the travel voucher expiration from a pandemic

Atlanta: Delta Air Lines said on Wednesday it will extend 2023 windows for customers to record credit obtained when they buy but then canceled flights during a pandemic.
Before the announcement, Delta flight loans arranged to expiration at the end of 2022.
The new date will also apply to all tickets purchased in 2022.
Customers will be able to use credit throughout 2024 if the trip was booked on December 31, 2023, the airline said.
The move was not immediately resolved by American Airlines or United Airlines, where credit is set to expiration March 31 and December 31.
Passengers have the right to refund based on federal law if airlines cancel their flight.
But if the passenger cancels, airlines generally only provide several forms of credit or vouchers, usually by expiration for one year.
Refunds have become the main source of complaints of airline consumers to the US transportation department.
Congress is considering laws that will require airlines to include lodging, food, and other fees which are subject to consumers when airlines cancel their flight.
