Thiruvananthapuram: Development of skills is above the government agenda and large-scale labor generation considered through the Kerala and Innovation Development Strategy Board (K-DISC), which is a strategic think-tank and advisory body formed by the state government, said Pinarayi Minister Vijayan said Assembly on Wednesday.
Replying to the calling movement of the call by MLA MK Muneer who invited the government’s attention to the need to establish the authority of the skills development, the main minister said that the government was exploring the possibility of working-from-home and planning modes to include more people under the initiative of skills development.
Regarding the same thing, the Minister of General Education and Labor V Sivankutty said that the government was ready with the design of the state government skills policy, and it would be resolved after discussing with other stakeholder departments.
The minister said that even though there were several gaps in coordination with the absence of skills development authorities, the government had entrusted the Kerala Academy to the superiority of the skill (Kase) as a state skill development mission.
In addition, to bring the initiative to develop state skills under one umbrella and coordinate it, Kase has been designated as a skill secretariat.
Increasing this issue, Muneer said that there were many skills development initiatives by various bodies under the government, including the acquisition program of additional skills (smoke) under the Department of Education, Kase under the Department of Manpower and Skills, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Deen Grameen Kaushalya Yojana ( Ddugky) Under Kudumbashree and agencies such as Keltron and C-DIT will operate their own skills development program.
“Even though it has many of these programs, we cannot achieve goals in skills development.
There should be an authority that must be led by the minister’s chairman, which provides accreditation for various skills development programs, and coordinates between them,” Muneer said.
