Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation quoted the grounds to postpone the demolition of the compound wall of Amitabh Bachchan’s Pratiksha Bungalow in Juhu for road widening projects, said Maharashtra Lokayukta.
By stating that the demolition work will be postponed by at least one year when things stand up now, Maharashtra Lokayukta Judge V M Kanade said in the order recently that the civil body had to issue a notification to the Western suburbs (road) deputies on the delay.

BMC said that it did not take over some of the land from the bungalow plot because it did not have a contractor for road widening projects.
The Civic body controlled by Sena Sena also said it would undermine the wall and obtain land in the next financial year when the road contractor was appointed for that purpose.
“The reasons given by BMC because they do not do dismantling it seems incorrect.
Every time the road widening project is carried out, adequate budget provisions are made by BMC for implementation.
It is clear that BMC delays the demolition of the wall boundary by giving a paralyzed reason,” said Lokayankta’s order.

“This is a matter of general knowledge that after May 30, there is no dismantling work done during the monsoon.
