Vadodara: About 15 people were injured when two groups clashed in Talsat Village on Tuesday night above several old competition.
The police have registered cross complaints from both groups.
Wounded people have been hospitalized for care, said source.
According to the police, the groups clashed over several old disputes that occurred last month during Panchayat polls in the village.
Balwant Thakore told the police that his son Navneet was chosen as Sarpanch beat his rival candidate Satish Thakore.
Navneet will take over as Sarpana on Tuesday.
Balwant accused that Satish and who was accused of attacking his son and his friends on Monday night.
When Balwant tried to intervene, he was attacked with sticks and pipes by the defendant.
Satish has also filed a complaint against Balwant, Navneet and the other five for attacking him.
He accused that Balwant threatened him and said that now they have the power to do anything.
The police said that it had taken complaints of riots and attacks from both sides and arrests would occur once they collected evidence.
