Coimbatore: District record 136 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, compared to 139 on Friday, taking a case tally to 2,44,271.
It was also the day when the district reported fewer Covid deaths.
While the country on Friday enrolled six covid deaths that occurred in the district in the health bulletin, on Saturday only one death was reported.
With this, the victim has reached 2,378.
Meanwhile, at least 148 patients were dismissed from various care centers in the district that day, carrying the number of active cases further to 1,594.
In accordance with health bulletins, 2,40,311 people have recovered from infections in the district so far.
In Tirupur, 70 people were tested positive for viruses on Saturday, compared to 70 on Friday.
However, the neighboring district recorded two Covid deaths on that day, while there was no death on Friday.
Now, the toll stand at 967.
With 85 patients returning home after treatment that day, the number of active cases had dropped to 810 in Tirupur, where 92,216 of 93,988 was infected until it was recovered until the date.
