Chennai: To clean the extra rush during the Diwali season, the state government will operate 16,540 government buses between November 1 and 3.
From here, 9,806 will depart from Chennai to another part of the state and 6,734 will be operated to Chennai, Minister of Transportation RS Rajakannapan told reporters on Monday.
To facilitate a return trip, 17,719 special buses will be operated from November 5 to 8.
It’s a little higher than the previous year.
A total of 12 reservation counters are arranged in Koyambedu and other buses.
Online ordering for regular services can be done using a personal ticketing application, besides the official website of the government (www.tnstc.in).
Transfer of temporary traffic, introduced every season celebration over the past three years will be followed this year.
The South and Westbound special buses will reach vandalur through the Outer Ring Road.
Passengers from Tambaram or Perungalalathur can take their bus in the temporary bus setup in Urapakkam.
Separate lines will be intended at the toll plaza for the bus to avoid congestion, the Minister said.
