Mangaluru: pre-university, limiting six universities, will start classes on campus in Dakshina Kannada (DK) from September 1.
CD Jayanna, DDPU, DK, said there were a total 201 private trade, assisted and government in all districts.
“A total of 195 colleges will be open to classes on campus and six others will start next week.
Universities have made complicated arrangements to welcome students,” Jayanna said, adding that universities have been asked to strictly adopt the appropriate behavior of Covid, with 50% of student strength.
FR Clifford Sequeira, Principal of St Aloysius PU College, said that because this institution had more students, he had planned a morning and evening class.
“So far, 80% of them have chosen classes on campus, and the last time their attendance is around 90%.
When it comes to hostel prisoners, around 50% of them have returned, and the rest tend to arrive after one or two weeks,” said FR Clifford .
Meeting with PU College Heads and Department officials were held on Tuesday night.
Those who were part of the meeting said that the district government received a complaint that several private universities forced students to attend classes on campus.
K V Rajendra, Deputy Commissioner, warned institutions that no students had to be pressured to attend classes on campus.
