Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada government has decided to reactivate Covid-19 task forces in villages and urban areas because the district infection curve shows the active Kaseload 2,650 on Thursday when 625 people were tested positive.
The district sees a drastic increase in everyday case from 48 on January 1 to 625 on Thursday.
The Positivity Test (TPR) test also saw a sharp increase from 0.6% on January 1 to 5.3% on Thursday.
Kaseload active in the district increased from 187 on January 1 to 2,650 on Thursday.

V Rajendra said all steps already existed to break the virus chain.
“The neighboring state of Kerala has TPR 5.65 and therefore we have made RT-PCR negative reports no more than 72 obligatory hours for all students between countries when they return to Dakshina Kannada.
They also have to remain in isolation for seven days and undergo a day Eighth.
Directions in this case have been given to all medical, techniques, paramedics and other colleges in the district, “said Rajendra.
According to the recommendation of the District Technical Advisory Committee for Covid-19, the government has issued a round with instructions for breaking the virus chain.
Village and environmental task forces have been reactivated recalling home insulation, quarantine and detention zone.
All health facilities have been directed towards strengthening reporting, testing and isolation.
All major contacts must be tested and people who are infected asymptomatik must be quarantined for seven days.
Testing for international travelers and between countries will be continued.
Hospitals have been directed to follow the practices of prevention and control of infection (IPC) that are strict, said Rajendra.
379 Cases in Udupi in the Udupi District, 379 positive cases were reported with the 5.57% test level of test on Thursday.
This district has 1,914 active cases.
